A friend gave this book as a hand me down， and I never would've predicted it would be such a JJ favorite。It is actually a Valentine's Day book， and to tell you the truth， I skip the last page when reading it to her because it is a silly rhyme about the reader being Elmo's Valentine。 So instead we read it as a book about what babies and farmers and Grouches love。。。She loves the rhymes， she loves the colors， and she loves it when we get to the page about Grouches loving trash and I exclaim， "What A friend gave this book as a hand me down， and I never would've predicted it would be such a JJ favorite。It is actually a Valentine's Day book， and to tell you the truth， I skip the last page when reading it to her because it is a silly rhyme about the reader being Elmo's Valentine。 So instead we read it as a book about what babies and farmers and Grouches love。。。She loves the rhymes， she loves the colors， and she loves it when we get to the page about Grouches loving trash and I exclaim， "What a Dump！" in a grouchy growl。 She always likes the piggies rolling in mud。Natasha's Daddy is mentioned， but no Mommies。 And as far diversity goes， it is all Sesame Street characters， with some girls and some boys。As I mentioned， I wish it didn't have a strange， "Will you be Elmo's Valentine？" page at the end。 And I wish Natasha could play peek-a-boo with someone other than her daddy。 She loves this book， and I suppose it is ok all around。 。。。more

The nephew brought this book out of the Little Golden book shelves to read again。 He likes Elmo。 Elmo has an excellent message: “Elmo loves You”。 A great thing for kids to hear。 I do love the picture of the Monsters exercising。 Very 80s and delightful。 When did Oscar the grouch get a girlfriend。 I am so behind on my Sesame street news。 It’s a cute book for young readers。 The nephew gave it 3 stars。 Me too。
